The Ryman Auditorium is described 'the Mother Church
of Country Music. It was home to Grand Ole Opry for
over 30 years. It reopened as a performance venue
in 1974, when The Opry was moved to the Opryland USA
complex. Riverboat captain Thomas Ryman built the
huge gabled brick tabernacle in 1890, it was dedicated
to spiritual music, and after he died in 1904, the
arena was made available for a wide variety of performances.
Musicians like Roy Acuff, James Brown and Sheryl
Crow have performed on the this stage, making it a
historical as well as a current-day icon for people
everywhere. The auditorium with its graceful interior
is at its best during performances. The music is only
part of the aura you feel when you're inside. Since
the Ryman is more than an incredible place to be entertained,
